2010: The Endless Summer of Surfside Sevens

The 2010 Endless Summer rugby event at the beach was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. There was much 'scoring at the shore'. Congratulations to all who participated in the 2010 Surfside 7s! Eighty games of sevens were played on 2 fields between 8:00am and 8:00pm. Great day of rugby!

The 2006 theme, 'beach ball' was huge. The tournament ball was be feastively colored like a beach ball. It was a hit! Wait 'til you see this year's ball!

We have an incredible location right across the street from the beach with two beautiful pitches. We have a men's open division, a club division and a VERY open division just for the fun of it. We've also included the boys U19 division since 2006 and we had 10 teams in 2007!

RUGBY ON THE BEACH

With the beachfront Windrift Hotel and restaurant sponsoring the event and located right across the street from the main pitch, we're expecting sandy spectators lined across the field. Bring your friends; bring your family for a day of rugby, beach, fun and sun at the fourth annual Surfside 7s tournament. Bring your swimming shorts and expect to have a ball!

There will be after tournament festivities for participants immediately after the tournament at the Windrift. The Windrift Bar is just across the street from the 80th Street pitches.

2007 YOUTH CLINIC

PW & Play Rugby USA, Inc offered a youth clinic for boys and girls ages 5 to 15 at the 2007 Surfside Sevens rugby tournament. The clinic took place between 10 a.m. and noon right on the Stone Harbor Recreation Center fields, 80th St. and Dune Drive. The same fields as the tournament.

Participants learned the basics of rugby from veteran instructors in a well-supervised, safe environment. They also had the opportunity to compete in flag rugby as well as watch some high level men's and high school rugby on the adjacent field.

July 29,2006 - Stone Harbor

The Shockers win it all - shock everyone - except themselves!! Other trophys were picked up by MARFU, Morris, Kutztown U19, the Hibos U19, Flip Flops and Brandywine. Congratulations to all participants. It was an awesome day of rugby!

Tournament Starts and Ends On-Time!

For all the nay-sayers out there ... the tournament started promptly at 8:45 in 2006 and ended right on time at 6:01. Thirty-three teams participated each playing a minimum of three games.
